What do you need?

Three questions, one reasoned setup. As a ScubaForce dealer I supply the gear — and because I dive it myself, I will also tell you what you do not need.

How buying works

Send me the setup from the configurator and you get a quote — with sizes, options and a delivery date. Drysuits and masks need fitting first; made-to-measure suits are individually taken anyway.

And if I think a part is a waste of money for you, I will say so. A satisfied diver buys more over ten years than someone I once oversold.

The three most common mistakes

A suit matched to the wrong water. An undergarment that is fine in summer and fails in winter. And small parts bought twice because nobody asked the first time round. All three can be avoided in one conversation.

The most sensible order is still dive first, buy later. Equipment is provided during courses; you find out in the water what suits you — and after that the decision is a different one.

SHEARWATER DEMO

Try Shearwater at DiveWithSteini

Do not decide from a spec sheet. Look at it, operate it, try it out — and work out together whether the system suits your diving.

  • Personal briefing
  • Get to know the handling without rushing
  • Try the display and the menus yourself
  • Ask your questions on the spot
  • An assessment that matches your own diving
  • No obligation to buy

What is here: a Shearwater Peregrine as a demo unit, together with its demo equipment. Exactly what you see in the photos.

Why ScubaForce in particular

Buying gear from me means buying into a decision I made first. So here are my reasons, written out. Why I teach with SDI/TDI is on the About us page.

Why I dive and sell ScubaForce

Because it is made in Europe by people who dive in cold water themselves, and because that shows in details you only notice on the tenth dive. Where a strap sits. Which buckle you can still operate with cold hands. Whether a pocket can be opened with dry gloves on.

Because rescue services, police units and government agencies buy the same drysuits. Those buyers do not choose by looks and they do not replace kit every two years. If gear survives that kind of use, it will survive my courses at Lake Constance in January.

Because the systems are modular. A harness that fits over the wetsuit in summer and over the drysuit in winter, a suit that can be repaired instead of replaced. There is a workshop for exactly that. Kit that grows with you is cheaper in the long run than the cheap purchase you repeat three times.

And, honestly: because Mönchengladbach can be reached by phone. If something is wrong with a suit, I speak to someone who knows the product, not to a service centre in another time zone. As a dealer that is worth more to me than any margin.

What that does not mean: that everything else is bad. If you already own kit that fits and works, keep it. I would rather sell you nothing than something you do not need.

Try it before you buy

During a course you dive the gear before you even think about ordering it. That saves more money than any discount.
